Right next to Irina's house under a shed lives great chief Mao. He always greets us, hopes around his cage and eats our treats. Sonia named him Mao as soon as she saw him. I think "Mao" came from "Meow" because he looks a lot like a cat and Sonia has never seen a real rabbit before.
Yesterday Mao was let inside for petting.
Lucky Sonia. Mao played dead and looked for dark places to hide.
Mao was rescued after the neighbors let him run loose in lieu of their move. His real name is Alex but we will always call him Mao in our family.
