Black Friday in NY

Again getting up and packing. We thought the movers were coming at noon so when they showed up at 9:30 am, we were less than ready. They agreed to get some coffee and come back in 45 minutes... Good heavens! Otherwise we would've had to leave half of our stuff in NYC.

Sonia helped with packing and cleaning up. She kept our spirits up and was surprisingly such a good sport. I was worried because she had a really hard time saying good buys to stuff we sold on craigslist but handled it well when we boxed everything up. Her new word of the week was "Box." We had to part with most of our furniture and a piano. But we raised enough money for the move.

At 3 pm when the movers were gone, apartment felt sickly empty and most everything cleaned up, we ventured out in the city for the last time this year to look at the Christmas windows.
Joyfully strolling down Fifth Ave, mixing in with the crowd and as usual Lord and Taylor displays beat everything Sacks Fifth and Macy's had to offer. I love their theme and execution...
Sonia couldn't take her eyes off it so we spent a good half an hour wondering, starring and enjoying Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker.
Macy's usual nevertheless special Miracle on 34th St.
Our first Santa seeing at Macy's this year. Note: Sonia wouldn't look at the camera even for a second.
We are grateful for the wonderful year in NYC. We are grateful for Natalie and Cameron and their friendship. Thank you guys for staying up late and letting us in for a night. I am grateful for Natalie's friendship and kindness over the past year. We are truly blessed!
